Tuscany in Texas!

A limestone campanile, or bell tower, stands at the edge of the road silently declaring there is something significant here, something you shouldn’t pass by. So you turn onto the gravel drive and wind your way up the hill through rows of Chenin Blanc grapevines until you reach the rustic villa at the top. It’s sun-drenched ochre walls, roughhewn, massive wood beams buttressing a dappled clay tile roof, oak-shaded patios, fountain, and rows of grapevines stretching toward the horizon are exactly how you pictured Tuscany would be. But you’re not in Italy, you’re in Fredericksburg, Texas. –Chris Dunn, Taste Magazine

Typically Saturdays are our busiest days. We usually have music on the patios and food providers (crepes, wood-fired pizza or bbq in addition to our picnic market plus Stout’s at Grape Creek Vineyards Trattoria is scheduled to open Fall 2014) on Saturday afternoons and when we do Wine Road 290 events they are also on Saturday. It is a fun, festive environment and you can expect a little bit of a wait on these days. We open up both of our fully appointed tasting rooms, have a much larger staff on board for tastings, as well as, a greeter to give you a sense of the options for the day.  As an added benefit, if you “Join the Family” and purchase three bottle of wine we will refund up to two tasting fees.

On Saturdays we conduct tram vineyard tours every 30 minutes (limited to 20 people per tour) including a tasting wine aging in French and American oak barrels.
